Have your students look at the cartoons that are written in Spanish and explain the joke as their response (I always collect responses using a Google Form). For lower level Spanish, have them explain the joke in English. For higher-level students, have them explain the joke in Spanish. Picking up on humor is one of the biggest tells in mastering a new language.
Begin exposing your students to facts about Spanish speaking countries with this set of slides loaded with all Spanish speaking countries.
