Please remind your students of the test taking strategy, that including all those zeros is not always necessary. Students should recognize that rounding numbers should end in the place value provided in the question. While that is not included on this resource, it is up to teachers to inclu

Meet PAAM! Perimeter and Area Anchor Chart

I created PAAM during my first year (2015) of teaching to help my fourth grade students with the difference between area and perimeter. I was watching The Office one day and was trying to create a lesson on finding the area and perimeter of rectangles. :) Here's an anchor chart to help students with this common misconception. It is available as a larger page and a smaller one that students can cut out and glue into their math notebooks. Enjoy!

Experience

I was a substitute teacher for grades K-12 for three years prior to becoming a full-time teacher. While I have experience teaching multiple subjects in elementary school, mathematics will always be my favorite. Teaching style

I make math fun! I love to joke around with my students and make them feel comfortable while learning. As a former student, I know what it's like to struggle and not have a teacher care enough to help you overcome confusion. I dedicate my life and spare time to create resources that I know will enrich the academics of all of my students.
