I was a substitute teacher for grades K-12 for three years prior to becoming a full-time teacher. While I have experience teaching multiple subjects in elementary school, mathematics will always be my favorite. Meet PAAM! Perimeter and Area Anchor Chart

I created PAAM during my first year (2015) of teaching to help my fourth grade students with the difference between area and perimeter. I was watching The Office one day and was trying to create a lesson on finding the area and perimeter of rectangles. :) Here's an anchor chart to help students with this common misconception. It is available as a larger page and a smaller one that students can cut out and glue into their math notebooks. Enjoy!
