Sewing Up Math

Provide your own supplies to follow the directions (includes template based on a hexagonal star) to sew more than 15 string art snowflakes and stars for the winter holidays. Mix designs to create new ones. Can be used in connection with a variety of lessons (not included) ranging from fractions, symmetry, lie group G2, religious holidays and more. Or just for the fun of it to decorate your classroom.

Follow directions to sew 1, 2 or all 3 circles to create Halloween BOO string art cards that look complex, but are easy enough for primary grades. Supply your own materials. Use to enrich a variety of lessons (not included) on circles, such as angles, secants and tangents. Directions include two sizes of sewing pattern templates, one of which can be used to create a snail mail greeting card.
