Teaching style

My teaching style was very diverse. I believed in giving the students a variety of teaching techniques which ranged from: whole class lectures, power point lessons (with music, sounds, and animations), as well as share pair lessons, jig-sawing lessons, small groups, large group projects, and independent lessons. (I taught many students in a wide spectrum of learning styles and abilities. (ELL - English Language Learners, Special Education and GATE - Gifted and Talented Education students).

Kern County Teacher of the Year Winner, District/Regional 'OWL' Teachers Union Award Winner, District/Regional Teachers Union 'APPLE' Award Winner. Teachers Union Bargaining Team Member for 10 years straight, District's Curriculum Commission Member for over 15 years, CCSS Board of Directors in California for over 10 years.

Shane has a B.A. in Liberal Studies, as well as a 'CLAD' (Cultural Language Acquisition Development) certificate from California State University, Bakersfield, and an M.A. in ELL (English Language Learning).
