To summarize my background is not difficult -for me-. It sounds confusing to others, but it simply happened while I transitioned from a college grad into adulthood, and parenthood. I went from loving, living and breathing corporate while attending, and after graduating college to making what some seem to believe was a drastic change in careers, venturing into the school system.
My beginnings in advertising, communications and marketing quickly and successfully evolved. I found myself developing global mass communication campaigns and eventually multinational -international- marketing, communications and sales campaigns. Having had the opportunity to bring extensive corporate background, experience in multimillion dollar campaigns, exposure to people, languages, and cultures worldwide, provided me with a competitive edge in the Spanish high-school-classroom after having taught elementary school for several years.
The notion that anyone can teach is pure myth. No matter how much one may know or how altruistic one may be, most people are unsuited to teach and are toxic for students -of any age-. I am definitely passionate about teaching, educating, and instructing -any audience-. While I continue to teach, I also continue to develop, write and translate corporate documents, participate in brand development and marketing projects, as well as communication campaigns using global and social media. I have not completely left the corporate arena.
As life continues to change, I continue to seek challenges.
