The Vertex Form Matching activity offers students the opportunity to match the components of standard and vertex forms to the graphs of specific equations. Students are given detailed instructions and an answer key. The activity also includes two challenge problems and The Vertex Problem Word Problem, Answer Key, and Rubric.
The Simplifying Rational Expressions activity provides skill practice in a problem solving setting. Students must identify the factor tiles and slide them to find the reduced form of the expression. It includes an answer key. The Simplifying Rational Expressions Word Problem includes a rubric and an answer key. The activities can be used as a warm-up, formative assessment, cooperative learning activity, or homework.
The Complete the Square Activity offers students the opportunities to complete a hands-on activity online. Students will be asked to create perfect squares by "completing the square". Students will connect the process of completing the square to vertex form. Slides are self-correcting. Additional self-correcting Complete the Square slides have been added so that students can move tiles into the correct order from the beginning equations to their solutions.
