Sharon's Problem Solving

The Pizza Problem: Quadratic Investigations offers students the opportunity to create a quadratic pattern through an activity. Students will then use quadratic procedures to further analyze the pattern. Topics included:Finite differences System of equations Quadratic Formula Graphing quadratics Quadratic inequality Transformations and Translations Line of Symmetry An answer key and rubric have been provided.

The task asks students to explore the multiplication chart to look for linear and quadratic equations. Students will learn that shifting the starting x and y-values in each table will change the type of equation. The task asks students to reflect on the commutative property within the multiplication chart.
