Experience

Teaching Elementary for 16 years and counting. 2 years as an art teacher and 6 years as a 3rd grade teacher. 8 years as a 5th grade teacher Bachelors in Exercise Science and Minor in Human Development Bachelors in Elementary Education emphasis in Health Masters in Education with Reading Endorsement. Teaching style

I am a teacher with clear routines and schedules, but lots of stories and fun in the classroom. I teach with a lot of positive reinforcement and strong student connections. Students rarely need disciplinary action when the right protocols are in place and expectations are clear. Subject matter is planned with multiple subjects in mind to maximize time and efficiency in the classroom. Students leave with intrinsic motivation for learning and a memorable learning experience that hopefully leads to an increased love of learning that will carry through their education.

My own education history

BS in Exercise Science with a minor in Human Development BS in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Health Masters in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement.

Additional biographical information

I always loved art and would have pursued it but Dad said "If you are good at art you don't need to major in art." While his statement has some truth I think I would have still loved it. I did pursue many art classes for fun in college as well as learning graphic design on my own. This mixed with education has led me to create many of my own worksheets and put together designs of my own. Gratefully this site is here and I can share some of this work with you!
