This beginning-of-year activity gives students the chance to see and handle the tools and equipment commonly used in chemistry classes, as well as learn about their uses. Working in groups, students will read a scenario about a Chemistry student conducting an experiment. They will then determine which tools or apparatus the student used at each step of the experiment. During the activity, students will complete a worksheet and create a one-page summary. The answer sheet is easy to grade.
