To go along with the Persuasive Writing Unit, I read the book "The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywelt. Afterwards we discussed what each crayon was persuading Duncan (the boy in the book) to do, and what reasons they gave for it. Experience

I am currently in my seventh year of teaching. I teach at a Targeted Title 1 School in Maryland. I have had five years of experience teaching 3rd grade, and I am in my second year of teaching 1st grade. This year I have had the experience of teaching fully virtual, as well as hybrid instruction.

Teaching style

I believe that learning should be student-centered, as well as hands-on lessons and activities. Every student is different and unique, therefore not all students learn in the same way. I do believe that students should be held to high expectations, but needed to be given the resources and encouragement to reach them!
