Experience

I have 9 years of experience in Title 1 schools as a classroom teacher. Five of those years were in 6th grade ELA and Social Studies, the other five were in 3rd and 4th grade ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I now tutor students of all ages!

Teaching style

I take a student-centered approach to teaching and want learning to be exciting for all of us! I love creating activities where students can work together and learn from each other. I'm also a big proponent of learning activities being easily flexible to meet different needs and as such I often have several versions of an activity to try and make that possible.

I strongly believe in being of service to others, which is why I went into teaching in the first place! I want to help my students, but also my fellow teachers and their students. Outside of teaching, I love to create themed events, be outside, and spend time with my husband and our German Shepherd, Koa.
