This Google Slide presentation is all about matter! It introduces students to the concept of matter and then how to classify matter! It covers pure substances (elements & compounds) and mixtures (heterogeneous - suspension & colloid and homogeneous solutions). Then it has a few separation techniques at the end. This is a worksheet that works well with the Matter Powerpoint posted on my TPT. It has 6 parts: Part 1 & Part 2 is a station lab activity that I do. I use marshmallows to demonstrate elements, compounds, mixtures of elements, mixtures of compounds, and both. They have to determine what it is and give reasons why. Part 3: Part 3 is similar to Part 1/2, but uses pictures. Part 4: Classifying Pure substances as elements or compounds Part 5: Classifying Mixtures as heterogeneous or homogeneous.

Hi guys! This is an editable density lab with practice problems at the bottom. This is for beginner's density practice using water displacement. You will need two dice and three different samples - I change these up each year, but usually something in the classroom! The dice can also be changed, but I use it the dice so the students can see that density is an intrinsic property which we cover after :) Then the last one is finding the density of a liquid, which we usually do together as a class!
