This or That (Getting to Know You Game)

Created by
ShermanScience
This slideshow is a great way to get to know your students at the beginning of the year, or this can really be used at any time! The slides present students with 2 options and they will move to different sides of the room based on their choices. This is loosely based on the TikTok trend that was going on recently, but could be used with students of any age.

Gummy Bears and Density 5E Lesson

Created by
ShermanScience
This modified 5E lesson set will walk students through an exploration of what happens to gummy bears when placed in water. Students will take measurements and determine the density of a gummy bear before and after being soaked in water overnight. There are a few teacher comments in red throughout the document, but those can easily be taken off before printing for students. The students love this activity, and naming their bears is encouraged!

Experience

Hello there! Thanks for checking out some of the resources that I have made for my students. I have 8 years of middle school teaching experience, primarily in 7th grade, but with some 6th and 8th grade as well. I have also taught a STEM based elective class for 6th - 8th grade.

Teaching style

I really focus on building relationships in my classroom and trying to get my students to be excited about science! Curiosity and Inquiry take the lead so that students have the desire to want to learn.
