About the store

Experience

I am a 9th grade Living Environment Special Education teacher in Queens, NY. Although I teach 9th grade now, I have experience teaching 8th grade Life Science, 10th and 11th grade Regents Living Environment and 12th grade elective course on environmental science with a focus on human impact.

Teaching style

I believe resources should be as interesting to look at as possible while still delivering the content the students need in order to successfully pass the Living Environment Regents exam at the end of the year. I believe movies can help deliver content in a familiar way to students and that shouldn't be frowned upon. If my kids will understand marine/aquatic ecosystems by watching Finding Nemo and Finding Dory through the lens of Ecology, so be it! I love science so getting to teach what I am most passionate about to my students makes the class innately entertaining for them since I get so excited, plus their notes sheets do not look boring which I hope helps them study easier.

My own education history

I went to SUNY Farmingdale on Long Island for my Bachelors degree which is in Bioscience. Afterwards, I attended Adelphi University for my Masters degree in Secondary Adolescent Education with an Advanced Certification in Special Education.

Additional biographical information

I am a huge nerd for the sciences. I love dogs and will stop mid-sentence to alert whoever I'm speaking to that there is a dog in our vicinity, and subsequently ask to pet it. I will do almost anything for Chipotle.
