In this project, my students will spend three class periods researching the various topics that I will cover during our 7 day unit. The presentation they will submit has 17 google slides that are rich with the TEKS covered and visual representations of the various topics. This google slide research project I do with my 9th graders in IPC. It covers 100% of the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) in the Wave Unit. There are a total of 20 slides that the students will create, and the project tells them exactly what to put on each slide. All of the information is easily found on the internet. I love to begin my chemistry units having my students research all the important topics for the unit before we begin the lessons, labs, and practice problems. I also love to sneak in a problem or two in the research just to get them seeing the "fun" to come. The students enjoy using the technology and I feel like I am working smarter and not harder. Here is a webquest activity I compiled from several websites. I have tinyurls created for easy access to the websites. I also share this assignment with my students through google classroom so they can easily just click the links to access the websites. This is a 2 day minimum activity. This webquest visits several pages on the physicclassroom website. The topics covered are: types of waves, parts of wave, wave interactions (constructive and destructive) and wave boundary interactions (reflection, refraction, and diffraction). The assignment should take about 45 mins.

This worksheet is a fill in the blank assignment I created from the video titled: Limits of Light by The Secrets of Nature. This worksheet is to be used with the online website at the Physics Classroom. The questions are over scalar, vector, distance, displacement, speed, velocity and acceleration. The student will choose their favorite sport and make a google slide presentation that shows how explain Newton's Law of Motion using activities from their chosen sport. They will include pictures and descriptions. This is a 1.5 to 2 hour project. I use this with my IPC class.

In this lab the student will measure the bounce height of two different type of balls from 3 different heights. The will repeat each height 3 times to show the importance multiple trials in science. The data collected will be used to calculate potential energy. There are several questions at the end of the lab that reinforces energy lost to various other forms of energy.
