This is a graphic organizer for assisting students in developing strong paragraphs. This is available as a Word Document so that you can adjust to fit you and your students' needs. This has always been a staple in my classroom and regularly requested following my conference presentations. Simple classroom tool!

These EDITABLE Accountable Talk bookmarks are great for independent reading, small group reading, or whole group reading. Give students the opportunity to think of discussion starters or responses to discussions. These book marks are also great for sending home for parents to use with their child to help talk about books at home.

This simple in design, but easy to explain and use reading calendar was designed in Google Presentation. It has been downloaded to Microsoft PowerPoint. It is currently an editable reading calendar. It includes September through June, along with a reading log for students to keep track of the books they read throughout each month. Enjoy!

This is an EDITABLE "My World" project that you can use at the end of your geography unit. I call it a paper version of "Google Earth," starting with their house and zooming all the way out to the world. You may want to edit the city, county, and state maps. These posters are the mathematical practices written in student friendly language. The work great, side by side, with your common core state standards. They are simple to use. I print them in medium size (two slides per page) to go beneath my learning targets. I also print them in a small size (four per slide) so that I can hand them out to students throughout a lesson. Here is a set of four "Word Hunt" bookmarks to use as a part of your word study program. My students use these book marks to search for words that match their sort during a week. This is a simple to use bookmark that your students can easily use.

Reading Karate is a spin-off of how some music teachers do Recorder Karate. As students read minutes you tie ribbons to a paint stick. I have it set that every 400 minutes students earn minutes. Another component, that you do not have to do, is assign beads to different reading genres. As students read a new or certain genere book, they earn a bead to tie onto their earned belt. This is a simple and editable Pick 4 Menu, which compliments any Daily 5 activities you might do in your classroom. The only "round" missing is Listen to Reading, since a good majority of my reading curriculum uses read aloud and listen to reading. Typically, to save paper I copy the slide twice, and print two slides per page. Enjoy.

This is a simple to use brainstorming sheet to use on DAY 1 of any informational text writing project. It breaks up students ideas into topics they know a lot about to topics they know very little about. The goal is to fill the bigger box with the most ideas.
