Experience

Starting as a Secondary Maths teacher in my hometown of Glasgow in 2006, I’ve since worn many hats: Head of Faculty, Qualifications Designer, Exam Question Writer, Local Authority Course Developer, and Senior Leader. After a rewarding decade in Scottish Education and a transformative five-year stint in Qatar’s oldest British International School, I worked independently as a curriculum (instructional) designer in Cambridge, England. My next step is back to international teaching after the 2023 summer break!

Teaching style

Simple to Complex Maths Resources reshape how students learn maths, presenting it as a connected tapestry rather than disconnected topics. My focus on the 11-14 year-olds age range draws on the pioneering 'Ten Steps to Complex Learning' model, guiding students progressively through a series of simple to complex exercises. The mission is to accelerate student progress through refined curriculum design.
