American Revolution Timeline Unit

When I teach the American Revolution my students add all events and themes to personal timelines that grow as the unit progresses. This document includes all the graphic organizers I use to create the timelines! All you provide are one sentence strip and one piece of construction paper per timeline. I've included instructions to create timelines, a link to the website I get my information from while teaching, and the events and themes I use while teaching the American Revolution.

Multiplication Tic Tac Toe

I plan on using this as a center activity during guided math time. Students will need to complete a Tic Tac Toe in one week’s time. They can self select which activities they want to do, as long as it makes a tic tac toe. At the end of the week I will give them an assessment to see if they have mastered the multiplication facts for the week. I tried to hit all of Gardner's Multiple Intelligences given the limitations of space, noise, time, and resources.

Reading Guide Template

I use this reading guide with every book I use in guided reading. It has an introductory question, which you can use to assess background knowledge. There are boxes for vocabulary so students can have a reference for those Tier 2 words. On the back I always put an "I can..." statement, text dependent questions, and graphic organizers related to our strategy focus. I'll be uploading some of these graphic organizers later! I just like the consistency from book to book.

Two Testing Review Relay Races

I use these relay races in the days before the BIG standardized test. Kids get so tired of review that we just need to get up and move! Both relay races are designed to be used as a way for students to work on a review packet together. Included: Rules for both games and materials needed to play the games. You provide the review work!

About the store

Experience

I have taught Fifth Grade Science and Fifth Grade self-contained classroom. All my teaching experience is in Title 1 schools and I have training and experience teaching English Language Learners.

Teaching style

I am a very personable teacher, although the fact that more than 75% of my students are English Language Learners pretty much shapes my teaching style. I like multisensory approaches, realia, movement, experiments, videos, going outside, vocabulary introductions, word walls, more vocabulary review, and then some vocabulary. Oh...and long walks on the beach :)

Awards & shining teacher moments

Last year I was not voted to kiss a pig during a pep rally. That is the highest honor I could ask for.

Additional biographical information

I want to provide a bunch of free resources that can be used by many. None of my products are going to be the cutest or pun-niest, but my goal in creating a store on TpT is just to share some of my self created resources. I spend too much time creating resources for them to benefit only my class.
