About the store
This is my 16th year teaching. I have a taught a variety of grades, but most recently 6th grade math and science. We utilize the Open Up Resources (illustriave math) curriculum. I create resources that align and supplement this curriculum.

Percent Store Project
Students create a store using a google slide. A link to a sample store is included. They then shop at other students' stores. They will practice finding discounted prices for percentages off and calculating the total price of their shopping sprees. Student directions, recording sheet and example store are included.

About the store
Experience
This is my 16th year teaching. I have a taught a variety of grades, but most recently 6th grade math and science. We utilize the Open Up Resources (illustriave math) curriculum. I create resources that align and supplement this curriculum.
Teaching style
I believe students should explore math with open-ended higher level thinking tasks, but that they alos need an opportunity for extra practice to become secure on a skill. Students succeed when this extra practice is high interest, varied and is beneficial to their understanding of the content.
My own education history
I have a bachelors in education from The College of New Jersey and a masters in education from Wilkes University. My certifications are in elementar education and Middle Level Mathematics.
Additional biographical information
Outside of work, I am a mother to three and a private math tutor. My passion is for helping students make sense of mathematics. This helps their ability to think critically and solve all problems and gives them confidence as well.
