Welcome to Simply Fluent! I’m so glad you’re here. After 25 years in education — including 13 years as a general education classroom teacher, a year in special education, 3 years working with talented and gifted learners, and 11 years teaching K-12 English learners — I know firsthand how important it is to have resources that truly work for all kinds of students. Simply Fluent was born from my passion for making language learning accessible, engaging, and fun. Every resource I create is based on real classroom experience, using strategies from sheltered instruction, best practices for diverse learners, and a whole lot of trial and error with my own students! I strongly believe in the value of hands-on, paper-pencil and interactive activities that give students a break from screens and help them process language more deeply. I also believe in the transformative power of reading — not just as a skill, but as a gateway to confidence, curiosity, and fluency. When students connect with stories and texts that speak to them, real language growth begins. My goal is to make your teaching life easier with ready-to-use, minimal-prep materials that align with curriculum standards and keep students motivated.
