About the store

Experience

Teaching style

I love getting kids up and moving. I think the more they interactive with the standards and skills the better they will remember and learn. I am a hands-on, manipulative kind of teacher. I don't mind an organized mess every now and then. I try to base instructional practices on research based methods that work. I am constantly changing lessons to meet the needs of each new crop of kiddos. I had a maker mindset before I discovered there was a name for it.

I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2012. I was teacher of the year at my school in 2008 and 2023.

Additional biographical information

I have three fabulous kids. We are very active. We enjoy camping, and just being outdoors. We raise chickens, goats, cows, ducks, turkeys and rabbits. I love to garden. My current passion is developing programming for makerspace and helping others find the maker inside of them. I also enjoy helping teachers discover their maker self by leading PD around STEAM.
