Children often struggle with knowing the difference between using a tool when they are having hard feelings and using a toy. This is a great poster to explain clearly what the differences are.
This was created to use similarly as a 'bathroom pass' - where if a student needs a break they can simply grab the break pass and take a break while also practicing some of the tools on the back. :) I created this with ONE student in mind and it turned out to be an idea that about 75% of my teachers LOVE and now have one hanging in their room. :) It's a great way to normalize the idea of needing to cool-down and take a break!
These posters have been used to help students choose from a list of Cool-Down strategies to choose from when feeling a hard-to-have feeling. This has been used not only in my sessions with students but have been printed poster size for teachers to have up in their classrooms (ideally in a cool-down corner)! They have been such a hit on my campus! :) There are three versions. Our K/1 teachers use Kimochis in the classroom, so I created one that is age-appropriate for them. **I am NOT affiliated w
Celebrate Valentine's Day with this Self-Love themed Bulletin Board. Students will be able to interact and learn about ways to practice Self-Love including: - Mental Health - Self-Discovery - Self-Care - Self-Acceptance - Healthy Boundaries - Self-Talk There are three versions including a black and white option. If you would like ONE version, contact me @msmabe.schoolcounselor
I use these to remind students of their Counseling Appointment. I typically put them into the teachers boxes the day before so the teachers pick them up before they head to their class in the morning.
This Uh-Oh slip was designed to be used with students in my self-management counseling group who had a hard time focusing. I've even had teachers use it in their classroom! :)
A workbook I created for students who struggle with their emotions throughout the day and need to use coping tools throughout to help them stay calm. It is really helpful for a child who may have suicidal ideation and/or self-harm or just experiencing intense emotions.
A great resource for teachers/counselors to use when beginning community circles in their classroom. It is a great opportunity to build the community in your classroom.
