My teaching style is practical, supportive, and structured—with a big focus on building relationships and creating a therapy space where students feel safe, successful, and motivated. I truly believe progress happens faster when students enjoy coming to speech and feel connected.
I like materials that are easy to prep (or require no prep at all), provide clear routines students understand quickly, include built-in supports (word banks, visuals, sentence starters), and make it simple to get lots of practice without feeling repetitive.
I also think sessions should be fun and encouraging—with plenty of laughter, movement when possible, and activities that feel like games while still targeting meaningful goals. I design with real school schedules in mind (limited time, mixed groups, lots of goals).
