Who doesn't love getting a special letter or note in the mail? Postman is a fun interactive rhythm pattern reading activity! Students click on a letter to open it up to find a rhythm pattern. They can practice reading the pattern or to provide an additional challenge, students can improvise a new pattern. Level 1 contains patterns using quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rest patterns in duple (4/4) meter. Level 2 contains patterns using sixteenth notes and sixteenth notes combinations

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am co-author of Q & A for MLT and the Jump Right In: Kindergarten Music Series, as well as a contributor on several other publications. I was named Michigan Music Educator of the Year and Arts Educator of the Year in 2018. I am part of the faculty for the Gordon Institute for Music Learning (GIML) and a clinician for music education conferences throughout the United States.

My own education history

I hold a B.M. in performance from Michigan State University, teacher certification from the University of Houston, and a M.M. Ed. from Temple University. I am an early childhood and elementary general music instructor for the Gordon Institute for Music Learning and is level one certified in Orff-Schulwerk.

Additional biographical information

I live in Farmington with my son, three dogs. I enjoy gardening, walking, biking, swimming, yoga, and being active in my community.
