This is a guide to the 2011 PBS Nature episode, Radioactive Wolves. The topic is wolves (and other species) that have repopulated the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
ACT IOD 404 and SIN 502 - Interpretation of graphs and charts, and prediction of results in a trial. Used after introductory assignments and notes about enzymes and reactions. Includes a space for a graph and a filled in table.
Students practice graphing skills (you may have to edit the directions for the graph - we have bizarre graph paper at our school that required an extra step), and data manipulation. They work with fractions, percentages, rounding, and estimation.
This activity includes: creating a set of axes with 4 quadrants and graphing in 4 quadrants. The result is a graph with a heart and the phrase "VDAY 2015" in the center. If you are using this for another year, the last set of points ( # 27-73) need to be changed to form the correct number - this takes about 5 minutes of your time to figure out.
This is a modification of the traditional KWL chart.
Informal/Formative assessment.
My assumption is that this type of chart is used for each unit and can be modified.
And yes, I drew the header in MS Paint. I couldn't be bothered to find a cool font instead.
A short story about a girl's day in food. I used a calorie chart in a cookbook for reference once, but a colleague had the students do internet research. Either way works.
