Instead of assigning a long narrative writing assignment, work on each element that makes a narrative engaging. You can adjust for different grade levels and decide which aspects summative and formative grades. Rubrics are included. Students can go back and forth from the Table of Contents to get to each activity.
This unit includes a character chart, plot summary handout, project, and rubrics. You will need to provide the text of the play. I like to use No Fear Shakespeare's version.
This is a great way for students to summarize the plot of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by scene and setting. If you purchase the unit, you will receive the plot summary, character chart, project, and the rubrics for each.
This is one part of the Elements of Narrative Writing Unit. You will need enough dice for partners, or for individual students. You can fill out the chart together if you are working with students who need more support. Then they roll the dice for each protagonist/antagonist, setting, and conflict. Students will then write an exposition from their favorite combination.
