The other worksheet students can practice how to use value in a still life. Students can demonstrate where their light source is, casting shadows and to shade their background to show contract in the objects.

Teaching style

I believe that you have to teach students a skill set as a foundation so that they can create with success. Without skill there will be failure. Failure it good. You will learn way more from failure than you will ever learn through success. However, too much failure, or setting a student up for failure can lead to defeat. You don't want to lose them early in the game.

Additional biographical information

My husband, John and I, have been in education for 16 going to 17 years now. We both teach Visual Arts and are very passionate about it. We opened a gallery and paint shop called Unchartered Creativity to showcase student art when the county started cutting the elementary art positions. We wanted our community and parents to see how important the arts are in education. We have since closed the brick and mortar establishment to spend time with our own two children. However, we offer 2 weeks of Fine Arts Summer Camp for grades K-8. It is hosted at Ola High School in McDonough, GA in the month of June.
