Students cut on the lines and glue down the black part in their notebooks or on a piece of paper. They write underneath each flap. This helps them put their writing in order as well as see what a topic sentence is, details, as well as a conclusion.
This shows what a first grader should be able to do in math and reading. I send this home during parent-teacher conferences so parents know what to work with at home.
At the end of each day I have my students write a high and a low. I created this to help introduce the concept as well as a reminder for reflection time.
I created another set of HFW cards to display in a pocket chart during each unit. My students like that they can read the font and the plain but colorful background. I had mine laminated for durability as well. These could also be printed out and sent home for students to study as flash cards.
I created this journal for my students reading chapter books. After each chapter students are to write a summary in their journal as well as listing the characters and setting.
For a nonfiction unit my students read about frogs and toads but I couldn't find any simple handouts on how they are the same and different so I created one.
These are teacher evaluations that I send home with my students at mid-year and end-of-year. This helps me see where my strengths and weaknesses are. I have them in both English and Spanish
I created this journal for my students that are reading short stories. After they read their story they are to write in their journal so that I can see what they read and comprehended. Students are to identify something important that happened, list the characters, as well as the setting.
I use this with a deck of addition flash cards from the dollar store. Once you print this out make sure to laminate it for durability. In the big box student(s) will place a flash card. Then the student(s) can use counters or draw in the ten frames to help them find the answer. This is a nice visual for those that struggle in math.
