I send home a note to parents and also let my students know that it is their responsibility to write and study the correct number on the back of their flashcards.

My students love to play this place value game! They roll a die and decide which place value to write the digit in. The goal is to get a number that is greater than your partner's. This game gets students thinking and covers standards 2.NBT.A.1 (understanding that place value represents amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones) and 2.NBT.A.4 (comparing three digit numbers, greater than and less than). I copy my gameboards onto colorful cardstock and laminate so that students can use dry erase marker
