About the store

Experience

Throughout my fourteen years with Chicago Public Schools, I have collaborated closely with my special education team and general education teachers to provide tailored support for students with specific learning disabilities and behavioral challenges. By focusing on individualized goals and fostering an environment that emphasizes Support, Opportunity, Adaptability, and Respect (SOAR), I help each student achieve their fullest potential and experience success.

Teaching style

KINDNESS! Teaching with kindness is essential for nurturing compassionate, respectful, and caring individuals. I emphasize Support, Opportunity, Adaptability, and Respect (SOAR) in my classroom, encouraging students to make an effort to understand others. Together, we take the time to appreciate different points of view, using that understanding to respond with kindness. This approach helps students learn to consider problems from multiple perspectives and find solutions that address everyone's needs. I model the behavior I expect and communicate that I anticipate the same from my students, fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration.
