About the store
I’ve spent the past ten years teaching high school social studies, including AP Human Geography, Latin American Studies, Sociology, AP U.S. History, and AP Psychology. Along the way, I was honored as District Teacher of the Year for the 2023–2024 school year. I earned my teaching credentials through the University of North Carolina Asheville as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I’m passionate about supporting other educators, too. I’ve led multiple professional development sessions for my district on writing with evidence in history, using interactive notebooks in history, creating choice boards, and implementing hexagonal thinking. I’ve also presented on student choice and visual note-taking at the North Carolina Social Studies Conference. I’ve served as an AP Reader for AP Psychology from 2020–2024 and as an AP Table Leader in 2025 and 2026. I’ve completed College Board training for AP Psychology (twice), AP Human Geography, and AP United States History, keeping my instruction aligned with the latest standards and best practices.

Teaching style

I love giving students plenty of chances to create and show what they’ve learned in their own way—whether that’s through hands-on projects, student-made products, or visual notes that bring ideas to life. I believe students learn best when they have ownership over their work, so I make it a priority to build in lots of choice and opportunities for their voices to shine. Another key part of my teaching style is bringing in diverse perspectives so that students can see the world from many angles and connect their learning to real people and experiences. I aim to help students become thoughtful, informed global citizens by engaging with a variety of cultures, ideas, and primary source texts that encourage critical thinking and empathy. You’ll see this same approach reflected in the resources I create—materials designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and make learning feel engaging, meaningful, and connected to the wider world for all kinds of learners.
