Teaching style

Teaching middle school is wonderful because I get to combine the best parts of all grade levels! I enjoy helping students build critical thinking skills and encouraging them to support their ideas with facts and evidence. Plus, I like to make sure we share some laughs while learning because that’s the best way to help them remember everything!

Awards & shining teacher moments

A former student visited my classroom and shared how much my teaching meant to him. He told me that the knowledge he gained and the way he learned it have truly helped him with his current class! A student said she liked the *aesthetic* of my activities. Little did she know, I made them myself! A student told me I was her "Miss Honey."

My own education history

I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in History Education and a minor in Political Science and Disability Studies. Then, I earned my Masters in Educational Leadership from the same university.

Additional biographical information

When I'm not teaching or working on my Socially Studious resources, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two daughters, and our wonderful family and friends. I'm a big fan of traveling, especially to England, to see my husband's family. I also enjoy spending time at the Jersey Shore with my family during our annual trip. A perfect day for me would include watching Real Housewives, sipping on coffee, coloring with my daughters, and jamming out to a mix of music, like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Chappell Roan, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Lil Wayne, and all the great hits from the early 2000s (which I do not hesitate to reference in my classroom).
