About the store
Greetings! My name is Morgan, and I have been in the field of education for 12+ years. I have worked with PK-1st grade students for most of my time over the past twelve years. I have been lucky to have taught in multiple settings, gaining experience from each place I have been. I started as a teacher's aide in a private preschool while in college, obtaining my degree in Elementary Education and certification for the state of Virginia. I then joined a local private school and taught first grade as a lead teacher. This particular school also had us assess and develop a curriculum monthly. I was lucky enough to serve under a principal there who had instructed at the University of Virginia in the area of Word Journeys and DSA instruction. I learned so much from her! I later ventured to the public school realm, landing at a Title I school that lost its accreditation. I learned so much about students with learning differences and financial difficulties. This school struggled academically, but there were so many amazing, resilient students and staff members. Lastly, I have become a Director of Education at a learning center, overseeing 150 students' reading success. I am the center's assessor, learning plan creator, and consultant. I work with grades PK-12 and have seen the full scope of how students learn to read. I look forward to supporting you on your journey this year, whatever it may be! As we all learn to become better educators, collaboration is key!

Want to be an excellent teacher for your kids, and your parents? Take detailed notes and follow through on action items easily with this written record when addressing parents. There is no better way to build security and trust with a parent, then authentically listening, and responding. This is also a great record, should there be miscommunication, or a leader at the school needs to check in and see your line of communication. Always take notes!

Student Family Survey for Beginning of Year Retro/ Tswift style

This survey will help you start the year off with a GREAT connection with families, helping them feel heard, while giving you a peek into their expectations for your records. I would save these in my file of the student for the year, using it before conferences to recall parent expectations, fears and family dynamics to handle families well. This document is a MUST for every school year!
