About the store
Greetings! My name is Morgan, and I have been in the field of education for 12+ years. I have worked with PK-1st grade students for most of my time over the past twelve years. I have been lucky to have taught in multiple settings, gaining experience from each place I have been. I started as a teacher's aide in a private preschool while in college, obtaining my degree in Elementary Education and certification for the state of Virginia. I then joined a local private school and taught first grade as a lead teacher. This particular school also had us assess and develop a curriculum monthly. I was lucky enough to serve under a principal there who had instructed at the University of Virginia in the area of Word Journeys and DSA instruction. I learned so much from her! I later ventured to the public school realm, landing at a Title I school that lost its accreditation. I learned so much about students with learning differences and financial difficulties. This school struggled academically, but there were so many amazing, resilient students and staff members. Lastly, I have become a Director of Education at a learning center, overseeing 150 students' reading success. I am the center's assessor, learning plan creator, and consultant. I work with grades PK-12 and have seen the full scope of how students learn to read. I look forward to supporting you on your journey this year, whatever it may be! As we all learn to become better educators, collaboration is key!
