Experience

I’m an educator with over 10 years of experience teaching both in the U.S. and internationally, and I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse learners from all around the world. My background in literacy instruction and educational technology has shaped the way I design resources, making sure they’re engaging, accessible, and adaptable for a variety of learning needs. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a passion for helping all students succeed, especially in the areas of reading, writing, and STEM. Whether it’s through interactive journals, differentiated assessments, or creative graphic organizers, my goal is to support teachers with ready-to-use tools that make learning meaningful and fun for every student.

Teaching style

My teaching style is hands-on and multisensory, designed to engage students through active learning that taps into their visual, auditory, and kinesthetic senses. I blend evidence-based literacy instruction with STEM practices to create meaningful, real-world connections that deepen understanding and spark curiosity. By combining reading and writing with exploration, problem-solving, and interactive activities, I help students build strong foundational skills while encouraging creativity and critical thinking in a dynamic learning environment.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have a rich history of international teaching, having worked with diverse student populations across different countries and cultural settings. This experience has deepened my understanding of varied learning styles, language backgrounds, and educational systems, allowing me to adapt my teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student. Teaching abroad has also strengthened my communication skills and cultural sensitivity, enabling me to create inclusive, supportive classrooms where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.

Additional biographical information

My TPT store name, SORintoReading, is a clever play on the acronym for the Science of Reading (SoR). It reflects my commitment to using research-backed strategies that help students "SOR” — or soar — into confident, skilled readers. By focusing on the foundational skills and proven practices of the Science of Reading, my resources are designed to guide learners step-by-step as they build strong reading abilities and develop a lifelong love of reading. Let's SOR into reading, together!
