About the store
I started my teaching career in graduate school teaching Statistics. After graduation, I went to Mexico for vacation and didn't come home for two years! While there, I was a teacher trainer in ESL as well as Kindergarten teacher. I taught for 8 years in an English immersion school, anything from 5th grade to high school English, World History, Geography, Biology, and Physical Science. After I returned to the US, I became certified in Special Education. I taught homebound students for two years before moving to an alternative school setting in Biloxi.

ABC Brainstorm Graphic Organizer
This is a simple tool for students to use in a brainstorming activity. All 26 letters of the alphabet are listed in a table with space for writing thoughts about the topic. It's just a simple tool I use when my kids are having trouble organizing their brainstorming thoughts.

Periodic Table Scavenger Hunt
I designed this for 8th grade, but it could be used as enrichment for lower grade levels or part of a modified chemistry/physical science inclusion. My homebound students enjoyed searching for items in the periodic table, and I found that a little bit of "sort of random" facts made them more interested.

Teaching style
As a homebound teacher, my teaching style had to be flexible. My students werehomebound for different reasons: some were very ill, others had behavioral issues; some were awaiting another placement. At the alternative school, I still have to be very flexible, but I'm closer to a "regular classroom" now than the previous years.
