Students read the passage and complete a chart with the regular, present tense AR, ER and IR verbs found in the reading.
Typically I will model the first paragraph with the whole group and complete the comprehension Q's that apply as well as the section of the verb chart that applies.
This is a great reading activity for sub plans but can also be used as a close reading.
This is a writing assignment that requires students to read descriptions of 3 restaurants. They must choose one and write a letter to a friend about why they would like to go to this restaurant.
The objective is to have students use evidence from the text to support their opinion.
This activity introduces students to the differences between Ser and Estar. Students read a letter and highlight the conjugated verbs in 2 different colors then categorize the verbs under the correct infinitive and choose from a short list of uses for each verb.
This is a 2 for 1! Included is a mix and mingle with verbs like gustar. Students ask each other questions about what they are into and must respond to others in full sentences. The other side is a writing practice to focus on the singular and plural forms of the verbs.
This is a paired activity that allows students to practice vocabulary with locations in the community as well as the verb "ir" and question word, "adónde."

This can be used as a CLOSE read or as a sub plan if necessary. Vocabulary used is the family and blended family (step-parents/siblings), adjectives, activities, etc.

This reading is about Alfonso's favorite restaurant. Students will read about what he and his family eat/order at an Italian restaurant. There are comprehension questions to follow as well as a short writing piece. This makes great sub plans or can be used as a CLOSE read.
