Welcome to Spark4Science, a space where curiosity, inquiry, and creativity come together to make science meaningful for all learners.
I'm Ann Sparkman, a licensed secondary science teacher with over 15 years of experience in education—including homeschooling, paraeducator support, charter school teaching, and public school leadership. I currently teach 8th and 9th grade science in Davis School District, where I develop and deliver engaging, NGSS-aligned lessons in Biology, Earth Science, Physics, and Integrated Science.
My teaching philosophy is simple: every student carries a spark of curiosity. I aim to ignite that spark through hands-on labs, concept-based games, and real-world learning activities that blend creativity with academic rigor.
Many of my resources are classroom-tested and rooted in competency-based instruction, MTSS strategies, and inclusive practices. I regularly mentor colleagues, lead curriculum development, and serve as a National Junior Honor Society advisor. Through platforms like DonorsChoose, I’ve also secured funding to enrich student learning and expand access to high-quality materials.
Whether you're a first-year teacher or a veteran looking to refresh your toolkit, Spark4Science offers materials designed with both students and teachers in mind.
🔬 Let’s teach science with wonder—and a little bit of spark.
