I’m Aoife Tierney, a Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, specialising in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Gestalt Language Processing (GLP).
I founded Sparking Speech in 2020 to provide high-quality, evidence-based support for children and their families. My work focuses heavily on AAC implementation, modelling, and communication partner coaching, helping children build meaningful, functional communication in ways that work best for them.
My approach is child-centred, strengths-based, and neuro-affirmative, supporting each child’s unique communication style to ensure their voice is heard. I’m passionate about creating practical, easy-to-use resources that help children communicate, connect, and be understood across all environments.

Teaching style
My resources are designed to be practical, engaging, and easy to use across therapy, classroom, and home environments. I focus on creating materials that support real-life communication, with a strong emphasis on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), language development, and neuro-affirmative practices.
Whether you are an SLP, therapist, teacher, parent, or caregiver, my goal is to provide resources that are clear, functional, and adaptable to support a wide range of learners and communication needs.

Queen Margaret University Edinburgh with a [B.Sc] (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy in 2012.
