Animal Ark Pets - Rabbit Race Novel Study

This is a novel study that I created for one of my reading groups to complete as they read the Animal Ark Pets book Rabbit Race. The questions go chapter by chapter and are all fairly straight forward in the book.

About the store

Experience

I am a tenth year teacher in a fairly rural county in Virginia. I teach students with intellectual disabilities, so I need to adapt the general curriculum content for my class. I still want them to have some of the same feel as the general education classes.

Teaching style

In English, I love working with small groups and doing centers. In math, I find it easiest if I teach one skill but allow the class to practice it in a number of different ways, each tailored to what they need academically. In science, I love previewing a skill and then doing a number of experiments and activities to help make a concept more concrete. In history, it's a lot of whole group instruction. I do very little tests, and only spelling quizzes. I assess my students through worksheets, and other methods of formal and informal means.

My own education history

I was homeschooled in K-4; public schooled 5-12, and attended Liberty University for my bachelors degree in Special Education.

Additional biographical information

As I create resources for my class, I will upload them here in case it will benefit anyone else. Also, so that I cannot lose my files... even if my computer goes to IT for help. I do teach all four content areas (English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and History/Social Science), but I also teach life skills and independent living skills as well as cooking. Some of those materials may also find their way here. :)
