I have been a Special Education Teacher, mostly at the Transition Level since 2007. Prior to teaching, I provided home-based respite care for a variety of individuals with disabilities and their families.
I am also a proud special needs mother.
As I travel through this journey with my daughter with Down Syndrome as well as my three other daughters I'm working to create educational material that benefit them and can benefit other children and parents.
Throughout my years as a teacher and mom I’ve realized the importance of ROUTINES, ROUTINES, ROUTINES. Especially for students with special needs and special needs classrooms. Routines help students know what to expect and set them up for success. They also help support staff and help your classroom run itself, giving students more independence and a chance to be leaders.
Several of my products are ones that can be added to help build class routines and/or independent work stations. Using products that can be used over and over not only helps your students master specific skills such as identifying items or learning vocabulary, it also saves time and paper.
