About the store

Experience

Although currently serving Pace Academy as the Lower School Director of the Academic Resource Center, I spent 20 years serving NYC public school students in grades Pre-K-7 as a Special Education Teacher of Support Services (SETSS), Integrated Co-Teacher, Self Contained Teacher, Academic Intervention Teacher, IEP Compliance Teacher, and Special Education Liaison.

Teaching style

Through my experiences, I have discovered that most students—those with or without disabilities—require some sort of ‘special education.’ Regardless of student ability, great instruction comes in the form of daily creativity to teach new skills and concepts, goal-oriented and standards-based lesson planning and researched based practices to reach multiple learning styles. I believe that all schools can deliver an exceptional education as administrators are informed and educators are equipped with the knowledge and tools to support best practices that allow all learners to flourish. I strive to foster a genuine interest in my students' strengths and weaknesses. I endeavor to find ways to help my students develop a sense of confidence and pride in their abilities despite the presence of a ‘disability.’ My goal for every student is simple. I want them to grow. I want them to be a better version of themselves when they leave my class/group. I want them to realize their full potential.
