About the store

Experience

I have been teaching special education since 2006. I have taught students with Autism, ADHD, Emotional Disturbances, Learning Disabilities, and Downs Syndrome.

Teaching style

I believe in teaching the whole child. I believe in a hands-on approach to learning. Students with disabilities need many opportunities to attain their goals. It's important to celebrate the small successes because small successes turn into big changes.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been recognized as my school's Reading Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year (twice).

My own education history

I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from James Madison University.

Additional biographical information

I am a wife to a very loving husband and mother to an energetic boy!
