Lately, I have had such an increase in clientele where I am treating a child with Autism who is having sensory difficulties during feeding. I created this little handout to explain to parents why having the child simply tolerate being in the same room with food is a huge step in the right direction! Really an eye opener for them. I hope someone finds this as helpful as I have!
Use this visual to assist an individual with remaining on topic. Topic maintenance is sometimes difficult to work on. If you keep the conversation very specific (talk about the topics on the map), you can point to the topic that you are on and instruct the individual that you want to stay in that circle. I have found it to be very helpful!
