About the store
I've been a speech therapist for over a decade, and most of those years have been in schools. I've worked with every grade from Pre-K through 12th. I currently work in a charter school in Las Vegas where I run weekly social groups for students developing their social language skills. I've found that project-based learning is fun and much more effective than "teaching" social skills. My projects instead focus on learning through ongoing teachable moments.

Stuttering/Fluency: Parent Input & Checklist form

Created by
Speech Guy
This is a simple word doc to get more background information from parents when conducting a fluency evaluation. It includes two sections: 1) 10 questions about the child's stuttering and 2) a checklist for a parent to describe the student's stuttering behaviors. Since it's a Word doc, it can be printed or emailed to parents. It's also editable to add your own questions or change the formatting.

Experience

Teaching style

Rapport, rapport, rapport. A trusting relationship with students is the key to learning and progress.

My own education history

I attended Appalachian State University in NC for both undergrad and graduate school to become an SLP. My undergrad was in English/creative writing with a minor in graphic design.
