As a fellow teacher/interventionist, I know the struggle of finding resources that actually work in the real world. I've become pretty passionate about creating lessons that bridge the gap between all that research we hear about and what we actually need Monday morning. I've learned to really value using data to guide my teaching, especially when it comes to literacy and math instruction. I strive to create resources that are both solid instructionally and engaging enough that kids won't immediately tune out.
I think we can all agree that we aren’t teaching the same minds that we were just a few years ago. I am constantly looking for ways to help foster their desire to learn using strategies that pair well with their ways of thinking. Like most, I definitely don't have all the answers, but each resource I make is my honest attempt to provide something useful based on what research shows works. But in addition to the research, I strive to make the material pertinent and engaging for my kids.
When you use my materials, you're getting resources from someone who's in the trenches just like you, trying to create quality teaching resources that help both teachers and students succeed in realizing and reaching their potential.
