Experience

Sandie Garland is a native French teacher from the Bordeaux Region in France who has been living in Canada since 2008 She has twenty years of teaching and tutoring experience with students of all ages, including children, teens, adults and seniors, in a variety of subjects. With a varied skill set in FSL/ESL and IPA (phonetics), she can adapt to the needs of any student.

My own education history

With a Master’s in teaching French as a Foreign or as a Second Language and 250h of TESOL training, she aims at creating simple and elegant solutions to face any teaching challenges. Since 2020, after undergoing Foundational and Advanced training in Orton Gillingham for structured literacy and math, and a 2023 Montessori training for teaching Math from 6 to 15 years old, she has been able to help students experiencing difficulties with reading, writing, and acquiring a number sense in their primary and middle years. She can help students in English and French equally and has over 1,800h experience in teaching Structured Literacy.

Additional biographical information

Since December 2021, Sandie has started her journey into earning Canadian credentials and entered a Bachelor in CIS with the hopes she can bring more educational solutions to her students.
