Fraction Multiplication Quilt

This is a project for multiplying fractions using manipulatives. It fits SOL 6.4. This works with visual multiplication. Students fold a piece of paper representing the multiplication of 2 fractions. Students will color in their piece of the quilt and then I "sew" them up and hang it up in the classroom.

Directions Activity

This is a fun activity I do on the first day of school or even you could do it after Christmas Break. It is an activity on following directions. Since we all know students that tend to not read the directions and follow them. I put the paper face down on every child's desk and then I tell them to wait until I tell them to flip the paper over and then begin on the paper and it needs to be completed at the end of the class.

Measuring Notes Foldable

This goes through using the metric staircase, the different units for customary and metric. Its a foldable. I have mine fold it like a card, and cut between the back page and the page on metric hints and draw in the metric staircase.
