Teaching style

Currently I use flipped classroom setup, but I started out as a write out all the notes on the board every class period type of teacher. After 5 years I needed to find a way to get more individual time with my students. So I started recording my own videos for students to watch and takes notes on for homework. That gave us the time in class to recap, clarify, and practice. I was able to meet my students where they are with their individual math needs. Removing the bulk of the lecture from class time allows me to engage my students about more than just the math. That is what I enjoy the most. How I run the "in-class" portion changes from year to year with Covid being the biggest recent factor. I love to incorporate technology when it is possible and when it makes sense. I am always up for trying something new if it means more student engagement!
